I’ve been a Power sports Owner for almost 30yrs, and my ’19 ZR9000LTD is my first “new” AC purchase.
I’ve had other Cat’s in the past, and I currently own a ’17 Wildcat SxS that was bought used.
After my new Sled purchase, I received an email with the offer to join the “club”.
I strongly feel that when someone purchases a $15-$20,000 machine, the fee should be waived.
Exactly how much would it cost to provide new Owners membership for free?
I won’t be paying $66.99 to join the club, but I will take pride in ownership.
I’m with John R 100% on this one. I went through this with my 2017 spring order of my 2018 ZR 6000. Even my dealer thought that the Cat’s Pride Club Membership ( and the Kit ) was a free promotion from Arctic Cat for spring buyers. The dealer ate the cost and I got the Kit. What bothered me is when I connected with the Cat’s Pride Administrator I discovered that there really isn’t any “club member” aspect to the promo. To me, and hopefully others will weigh in, it would be great to have some exclusive “Cat’s Pride” promos ie. discounts, an eNewsletter, and Cat’s Pride events that would be sponsored by Textron/AC and run through the dealers. Actual member benefits.
I agree 100% with both John and Dave, would a one or two year $50 membership sponsored by Textron/AC after purchasing a new Sled/SxS/etc really hurt them? What a great way for the company to build even more brand loyalty and another way to set up AC as being better than the competition. The $50 fee really probably just covers the cost of the kit, labor to process it and shipping. This is most likely why there are no promos, discounts, newsletters, etc. Actual benefits would be another step to setting AC apart from the competition. I remember the old Pride magazine, couldn’t wait to get the next issue, and everytime I purchased a new sled I got what seemed like a one year subscription, that was in the ‘good ol days’. How much would it cost to put out an electronic version of Pride, not much, just some labor costs. Thank god we have Mr. Sandberg and Arctic Insider, he is the current version of Pride!! Thanks John

Back in 2013 when I ordered my 2014 XF 8000 LXR I paid around $11,500 for the machine. I received the Cats Pride Club Kit for free then. In 2018 I ordered my 2019 ZR 8000 Limited iACT and paid around $15,500 for the machine. Now I have to pay for the Cats Pride Club Kit. Interesting that back in 2013 I got it free and now in 2018 I have to pay for it. Not really complaining, because I am a Cat guy forever, but wondering why. I have purchased many Cats through out my life including a 2013 Wildcat 4. My dealer even gave me a belt, oil, shirt and hat. Don’t see why Cat can’t give a kit.
I agree with all of you guys. Back when i was a freshman in high school in 1999 I bought a ’95 EXT 580 EFI Mountain Cat (still have it and ride it occasionally). I subscribed to Cat’s Pride that year. I remember getting a coupon in the Cat’s Pride mag that you could purchase a set of the blow molded plastic skiis for a 100 bucks, hence I used the coupon and got some skiis for a good deal. I also picked up some other things from the dealership. A set of skiis may not seem like a big deal but i was sure happy at the time to get that coupon, and it was just one of those things that made you NOT want to ride something else. Cat’s Pride magazine was awesome. The ‘CUSTOM CATS’ section was my favorite. It was cool seeing various people’s efforts put in to all sizes and all years of Cat sleds. When i spring ordered (notice how i didnt use Polaris terminology and say ‘snow-check’) my 2014 XF 8000 Black-and-white Limited, I received a free Cat’s Pride kit that year and I was very happy. It felt like the good ol’ days of the 90’s again. Although I miss not seeing the warm face of a PRIDE magazine grace my mailbox, I will patiently wait for this ‘internet fad’ to wear off until I can one day see it again ;-). If a guy drops big coin on a new AC sled. It is not to much to ask Textron to send the Vietnamese shirt and the Chinese made hat, and the pin…it is less than 10 dollars out of their pocket…..sad.
Well after all that I went and clicked on the link and ordered my kit. Would have been nice if Cat included it on my 2019 spring order like they did when I spring ordered my 2014. Oh well what’s another $50. Already spent way more than that accessorizing the new Cat and on other Cat stuff. Really like the kit.

I used to get the Cats Pride kits every year, that is until the apparel that came with the kits started being made in countries you couldn’t even pronounce the names of. The kits became smaller and smaller, the sizing of the clothes were so unpredictable, you didn’t know what size to order. It used to be a very good deal. Haven’t got a kit in years, although that purple flannel looks sharp, I don’t want to risk ordering my size only to get one that fits, well, who knows how.
