Eric Skogman Remembered
Eric Skogman, MSPN’s Editorial Director and dear friend, passed peacefully in the company of family on Wednesday afternoon, April 20 after a long, and courageous battle against cancer. To celebrate his life, and to also help Eric’s family with the immense expense of his journey; a benefit and celebration in his honor will be held as scheduled this Saturday, April 23 at Tuttle’s in Hopkins, Minn., at 6:00pm.
Eric was an avid powersports enthusiast for nearly 30 years. Eric joined MSPN in 2007, where he directed the editorial efforts and managed content for MSPN’s publications and clients. He worked closely with the Minnesota United Snowmobilers Association, All-Terrain Vehicle Association of Minnesota, Minnesota 4-Wheel Drive Association, and many other MSPN publishing partners including the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs, Illinois Association of Snowmobilers, the Sno-Barons, ISOC, ORA, WSA, USCC, Visit Duluth, EMT, Minnesota DNR, and many others.
Prior to joining MSPN he spent nearly eight years in various editorial positions at Ehlert Publishing Group located in Maple Grove, Minnesota. There he served as editor of ATV Magazine, Watercraft World, Snow Goer, Snowmobile, and Snow Week magazines. Eric was also the Editor-in-Chief at DeWitt Publishing in St. Paul, MN; was a freelance writer for several national publications; and recently was an integral member of a team of journalists supporting ESPN’s Winter X-Games.
No matter his role or situation, Eric’s passion, commitment, professionalism, wit, and enduring zest for life were ever-present with abundance. Armed with a grin, Eric was a friend to all and will be remembered not just for his incredible contributions of his career, but also more importantly, for the love he showed toward everyone’s life he touched.
Godspeed Eric.

John, so sorry to hear about Eric. We are all thinking of him and his family. Last time I talked to Eric was at X Games and was glad he was able to make it. Eric was a great genuine guy and will be greatly missed. RIP Eric.
I am saddened by the news of Eric’s passing. I spoke with him at Arctic Cat’s sneak peak in January and by talking with him you wouldn’t have even known his struggles. When I asked him how things were going with his cancer he was very matter of fact about it. The stuff he had to go through made him tired and kept him from doing more riding and enjoying the products that he wrote about. I didn’t know Eric very well but I will look back and remember him and have respect in all that he had to go through and how he fought through it.
God Speed Eric. I remember the day your Mother found out about you. She loved you so much. I know God has taken you back to be with her.
