Of course I’m just a bit biased, but I think you’re going to like the just-released “50 Years of the Cat” book. It’s a 160-page pictorial journey through the past 50 years of Arctic Cat that I wrote with the help of many great people.

It’s on-sale in the Curling Club building this weekend at the Arctic Cat 50th Anniversary Party in TRF.

It’s not yet at Arctic Cat dealerships, but will be in a few weeks (P/N 5224-012, $24.95 U.S. and $29.95 Canada).

It’s loaded with photos, many of which were uncovered/shown here for the very first time.

50 Years of Arctic Cat DVD

In addition to the book, Arctic Cat produced an awesome commemorative DVD titles 50 Years of Arctic Cat. It’s 90 minutes long, features classic footage mixed with recent interviews of many Team Arctic racers, Arctic Cat engineers and others. It too will be available for purchase at the 50th, and later through dealerships (I’ll update with the price as soon as I find out).

Great combo. Just watched the DVD. Mr Skime shows us all what Share Our Passion is all about. If I would have been in the Directors chair, I would have needed to leave the room. He is an inspiration to anyone who loves a snowmobile, no matter what brand.

Great book, lots of interesting info. It is a real keeper. Quite an amazing display of Cat sleds and other items produced by Cat. I sure hope each and every Cat owner that displayed a sled or item received a hearty thank you. The displays really helped make the show. Great job Arctic Cat and to all those who helped make it some thing to remember!!!

Thanks for the effort and insight into the Arctics first 50 years! Got it for Christmas and just got a chance to watch the dvd. What a story filled with true passion and GREAT people. The story from Brian Nelson about the I-500 was awesome, and Roger Skime talking about the “Gone Fishing” time was heart wrenching but to you hear the PRIDE in his voice as he described “Coming Home” when the assebly line fired up to build the 83 Cats. All CAT riders must have this set……

I have a Arctic Enterprises Inc Snowmobile about the size of a Elan! It has a Briggs and Straton 8 or 10 hp 4 stroke with electric start! Track is pinned sections, seat is full from top of gas tank to taillight! serial# 5034018 and Vin# 5800013. Manufacture date is scratched off. Engine has no spark. What year was this machine made?
