RG PRO Rear Suspension
Developed in partnership with off-road racing legend Robby Gordon, the all-new RG PRO Trailing Arm rear suspension on Wildcat X models features key race-proven design elements that deliver the ultimate big-bump, professional-level performance that characterizes desert racing.
It starts with independent right- and left-side V-shaped (or “wishbone”) box-steel suspension arms that mount to the chassis at the wide end of the “V.” Each trailing-arm wishbone extends rearward from the chassis attachment point and attach to each hub/wheel at the narrow end of the “V.”
The massive wishbone design is constructed box-style from welded high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) steel, which, coupled with the trailing-arm design, delivers nearly perfect “true” wheel tracking in rough terrain. The geometry of the RG PRO Trailing Arm suspension includes a small amount of negative camber as the suspension moves through its 16.5 inches of wheel travel, delivering improved cornering performance, while premium rear hub bearings handle the rigors of PRO performance.
Each wishbone is suspended by massive, race-proven 2.5-in. King coil-over gas shocks featuring remote reservoirs and full compression adjustability.
The complete RG PRO rear suspension is the same design utilized by Robby Gordon and Sheldon Creed in Stadium Side-X-Side Series, and that has been tested and proven in competition like King of the Hammers. The RG PRO rear suspension in the Wildcat X models is designed for UTV drivers who want the ultimate big-bump performance for high paced, high intensity conditions, with optimal stability that comes from minimized wheel scrub; maximized ground clearance; and the ability to repeatedly withstand the rugged conditions of off-road riding and competition.
KING Gas Shocks KING gas shocks come with a world-class off-road racing pedigree and premium features expected for Wildcat X models. They feature 2.5-in. rear and 2.0-in. front hard anodized aluminum bodies and remote reservoirs for fade-free performance that dissipates heat in the most demanding conditions. Twenty-position compression adjustability and precise rebound damping complement spring preload adjustability for maximum suspension performance and tunability for all riders and conditions. Highly developed port designs on the 6061 aluminum alloy piston provide the famous KING ride quality, while heat-treated stainless alloy valve shims are extra durable and resist deformation at high temperatures, providing consistent fade-free performance. Large 0.75-in. diameter shafts have a tensile strength of 100,000 pounds per square inch, and are hard chromed to combat rock bruising and micro-polished for extended seal life. Replaceable Teflon lined stainless steel spherical bearings will not rust and provide smooth articulation with no metal-to-metal contact.
Race-Inspired ROPS Cage An all-new ROPS cage on the Wildcat X models takes its Baja race-inspired design straight from the race machines used by Robby Gordon and Sheldon Creed. It’s made from robust tubing, with additional front support braces aimed at delivering maximum rigidity and strength for driver who demand race-level performance.
Double A-Arm Front Suspension Arctic Cat’s Double A-Arm front suspension delivers premium comfort and control in a full-range of terrain conditions via optimized geometry and class-leading 17 inches of front travel. Added gusseting and more robust tie-rods are complemented by new mounting hardware for the ultimate in strength and durability for drivers who demand professional-grade performance.
Custom KMC Aluminum Wheels The new Wildcat X models feature custom KMC cast-aluminum wheels built only for Arctic Cat. Tough, lightweight and matched to the new 27-in. ITP ULTRACROSS tires, the 15-inch KMC wheels deliver the ultimate off-road, race-ready performance.
Strengthened Chassis To withstand the ultimate demands from professional-level use, the chassis on the new Wildcat X models has been augmented with features that deliver greater strength and rigidity. Additional bracing has been added to the front end, the lower portion of the chassis, as well as new and strengthened mounting points for the RG PRO rear suspension. The A-arm mounting brackets are also made from heavier-gauge steel.
Pretty cool looking side x side. Out of my price range though. In the next two years I am going to be getting a Trail though. Buddy has one with 4000 nearly trouble free miles, other than the failing coolant hose from being to close to the Exhaust manifold. Simple fix.
I have been the BIGGEST Arctic Cat fan/dealer(71~86) and raced Arctic sleds my whole life AND bleed “GREEN”!!!!!!!!! …………But Arctic needs to put a “MOTOR” in this thing!!!!!!!! Sorry but you guys are wayyyyyyyyyyy behind in that dept…..(im sure your working on this AND know it~)
YAWN
AllenO you seem to yawn alot staying awake at night working on those BRP’S or Polarisies.
