Tucker Hibbert might have retired from professional snocross, but he hasn’t stopped trying to make a difference in peoples’ lives.
This Saturday, he’s hoping fans, friends and family will join him at the 2018 Walk for Wishes® Twin Cities event in order to raise money for Make-A-Wish® Minnesota. It will mark the third consecutive year that Team 68 walks and raises money to help grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses.
You can be a part of it!
“Raising money for Make-A-Wish Minnesota through Walk for Wishes is really turning into a fun tradition for me and my fans,” Hibbert said. “After my first experience helping grant a wish through Make-A-Wish in 2015, I knew I wanted to get more involved with the organization. Walk for Wishes has provided me the opportunity to bring together people and raise money for a great cause. It’s been awesome to see how excited people are to get involved. The whole experience of building the team, getting ready for the event and the actual walk itself has definitely been a highlight of my year since we started doing this.”
Since 2016, Hibbert’s Team 68 has raised over $21,000 for Make-A-Wish Minnesota through the Walk for Wishes event.
“Tucker and all of those who join Team 68 help make life-changing wishes come true. We’re so thankful for this team – their support makes all the difference to Minnesota kids facing the biggest challenge of their life,” said Mia Broos Hoagberg, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish Minnesota. “We’re now studying how wishes can have a long-term impact on very sick kids. Anticipating a wish can provide the spark of hope so often missing during a critical illness. Wishes help kids feel better, and sometimes even help them get better.”
How to be a member of Team 68 and help grant a wish?
Option 1, which I call the “show-Tucker-who’s-the-boss” option: A $20 donation registers you for the event and reserves your Team 68 Walk for Wishes t-shirt. So…show up at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis Saturday morning, Aug. 4 wearing your fastest shoes. Get your event t-shirt, check out the cool stuff and hang out with Tucker and friends for awhile. Then, when the 1-mile walk commences at 10am, burn some rubber and beat Tucker to the finish (because he walks a leisurely pace and is easy to beat).
Option 2, which I call the “tell-Tucker-he’s-a-goofball” option: Same as above, except you don’t throw down. Instead, you walk with tucker and friends, during which you’ll learn firsthand that he’s a goofball.
Option 3, which I call the “life’s-to-busy-to-do-everything-but-I-still-want-to-help option: Make a contribution and still receive the sweet t-shirt to acknowledge you’re part of the team.
No matter which option you choose, all money raised goes directly to Make-A-Wish Minnesota.
