I’ve spent a fair amount of time riding the Norseman over the past couple years, and I have to say it’s truly incredible what this snowmobile can tackle. Ive used it to tow firewood in a sleigh, ripped it during extended trail rides and have played off-trail with confidence in deep western powder.
I feel this is one of the most overlooked snowmobiles in the Arctic Cat line-up simply because it has the word “utility” attached to it. Because I spend more time on the trail than off, the only thing Id want to do to make it mine, is swap the track out for a 2-in. lug. Again, that’s my personal preference.
One of my favorite Norseman stories can be found HERE when three adventure riders traversed nearly 3,000 miles on a roundtrip.
Let’s take a look at the 2022…
The 2022 Norseman X blurs the performance lines between utility, trail and mountain – This do-everything snowmobile grows more intense with ADAPT CVT System.
Powered by the C-TEC2 794cc twin-cylinder engine, delivers clean responsive performance with leading fuel economy thanks to DSI, Electronic APV Exhaust Valves, Exhaust Pipe Temperature Sensor, electric oil injection, ceramic exhaust and convenience of push-button engine reverse and electric start.
Adventure-minded power, smoothness and reliability is backed by the all-new Arctic Cat ADAPT CVT System. New Drive and Driven clutches are lighter-weight and employ a compact design with advanced idler system. ADAPT maintains constant belt tension throughout the RPM range resulting in minimized wear and maximum throttle response throughout your drive belts’ longer life without fade.
Up front, the Arctic Race Suspension (ARS) offers Arctic Cat 1.5 IFP ski shocks with 9-in. of bump-eating travel, while the coupled 153-in. XTRA-ACTION articulating rear suspension boasts 13.5-in. and employs Arctic Cat 1.5 IFP track shocks. A 15-in. wide, 2.25-in. lug Powerclaw track and wide-tapered ProUte 10/8 skis aid in the ultimate backcountry flotation.
Mountain handlebars and seat, rear rack and pivot hitch, storage bag, deluxe digital gauge, push-button electric start, dual-halogen headlight, sport bumper, tether and 14-in. mid-height windshield are standard features.
The performance-inspired bodywork comes in Red and includes a commemorative 60th anniversary badge.
Snowmageddon Ordering and Accessory Kit
During the Snowmageddon Order period you’ll get your best deal of the season. The Norseman X 8000 is available in Red with an Accessory Winter Essentials Kit option including a ProClimb front bumper, rear storage cargo bag and 18-in. high windshield.
So Kale. Have you heard of anything about a Garmin being planned to be available to cats sleds that would interface with the sled itself? Was at my local Dealer on Saturday looking at the ZR RR 22 that they had and he said that this was going to be available at some point, but no idea on pricing.
JimR – Ill have full story on Garmin TREAD this week! Hooray! Its pretty cool.
Awesome!
We’ve ridden the Norseman models quite a bit each year, yes, they are definitely the Swiss-Army-knife of snowmobiles…they do it all. I feel the red and white accents on this one is a direct nod to the 1962-1966 Arctic Cats!
My favorite sled! I’d take mine with a 1.6 track but that’s just me. I have a lot of miles on Norseman’s and think they work great.
Given this is a utility sled, it should be available with Yamaha’s 1049 4 stroke engine.
