To say the first ever ArcticInsider Ride & Rally escalated quickly would be an understatement. I can’t thank everyone enough who took the time to join us in Isle, Minnesota last month for a day of riding, conversation, and camaraderie. With nearly 25-riders hitting the trails, the event exceeded my expectations, and the vibe was so good, I’ve committed to doing it again this winter – more on that later.
I also know I’ve been missing in action lately with updates to the site. For starters, we had some nasty virus stuff invade the AI portal, and it took some time to get things sorted out. The good news is the site has been given a clean bill of health, and those of you who have been experiencing a redirect or strange landing pages should now also experience pure AI bliss. More importantly, the story basket has been loaded up and more goodness is coming…especially snowmobile related content.
As for the Ride & Rally, it was a home run. We had a great group of riders, the trails were fantastic, the crew at Mugg’s offered up exceptional hospitality, and nearly every rider in attendance left with some swag. Thanks again to everyone who attended or helped out, especially Tom Rowland and his Thomas Sno-Sports crew, Mugg’s of Wahkon, Minnesota, and Les Pinz of the Mille Lacs Driftskippers club.
With plenty of rain hitting the state of Minnesota this summer, water was a frequent feature throughout the day.Good friend, founding member of the Antique Snowmobile Club of America, and International Snowmobile Hall of Fame inductee Dave Guenther was ready for off-road action with this buggy that was owned by his father. Wisely, Dave decided to ride a more comfortable and capable Arctic Cat and kept this one back for conversation fodder instead.The official crew of the first ArcticInsider Ride & Rally. Thank you everyone for coming.Our group featured both side-by-sides and ATVs, including a few visitors from “other” brands. The group split-off mid-ride allowing the under 50” crew to enjoy the more technical trails of the area.
It was at this moment he realized he $#%*$ up.A few minutes later we were pumping water from the engine and the trusty Cat was running once again. Whoever said Cats don’t like water?!Prior to departure I reminded the group I was once a lot taller.Props to the crew at Mugg’s in Wahkon who, despite being filled with customers, reserved a series of tables for the AI ride crew. If you’re ever in the area, make Mugg’s a must stop.When the ride was over, Les Pinz, who is also an inductee of the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame, invited everyone over to his personal vintage/classic snowmobile museum.Getting a private tour of Les’s collection was a bonus for those of us who stuck around after the ride. Few guys are nicer and know more about the history of the sport than Les.We did it…thank you everyone who played a part. Let’s do it again!
