I’m taking this opportunity to broadcast a public service reminder for those of you living in the Midwest: YOU NEED TO GO TO A CHAMPIONSHIP OFF-ROAD RACE! Horsepower, Dirt and Beverages to wash it all down – what more could a guy ask for?
For those of you that don’t know, the fine folks at ISOC, who bring you the National Snocross Circuit, also do an incredible job presenting the Championship Off-Road races. The Race Formats, On-site Displays, Live Broadcasts, TV Coverage and Social media are nearly identical to each other and truly top-notch.
Ive been to a handful of off-road races, primarily in the Western states (California/Nevada), and I shamefully admit, this is the first time Ive gone to a Midwest off-road race. (Sinner, I know.) With ERX Motorpark damn near in my backyard, I wasnt going to pass up the opportunity to attend, and Im glad I went!
If you’re a first-timer, there’s a few things you should know. Parks like ERX are massive. You’re gonna do some walking. Leave the fancy pageant walkin heels at home.
Cool thing about ERX, they allow you to cruise around in your personal pit vehicles. IE: Golf Cars, dirtbikes, ATVs/UTVs. Those definitely help you cover more ground quicker. If that isn’t an option for you, there were busses available from the parking lots which make life easier.
Bring a lawn chair – Its not necessary, but again, its a big place. You wanna be comfortable, and have a place to rest your beverage between sips.
On-site Camping – What makes ERX Motorpark great is the opportunity to camp on-site. I saw so many families camping who brought their ATVs etc. Looked like an awesome way to spend the weekend with the family.
I got the chance to visit with my buddy Jeremy Houle whose family owns Speedwerx. He was racing his Wildcat XX in the Pro Stock SxS class and finished 4th and 5th respectively in Friday and Saturday’s finals.
As an Arctic Cat fan, I was seriously proud to see Jeremy finish at the front of the Pro classes with his Wildcat XX. Speedwerx has an incredible display and presence at the races. They do an amazing job representing the brand.
On Friday, Speedwerx own, Jake Jorgenson, led the Sportsman SxS final from start to finish bringing home a well deserved first place trophy.
Cudos to Speedwerx and Arctic Cat on the great weekend, and a big shout out to both ISOC and ERX Motorpark for the fantastic show. Make sure to follow Championship Off-Road sites for more info on the remaining race weekends and how to follow them. You won’t be disappointed!
