In a typical year, Team Arctic snocross racers would have had their first two rounds of National racing under their belts with the season opener in Duluth, MN over Thanksgiving weekend. Not so much this year, as the series will kick-off in January at ERX Motorpark in Elk River, MN.
That said, it feels a little weird seeing the new Team Arctic snocross ZR’s rolling off the line now. Below is a first look at the new ZR in a room most don’t get to see.
This is called the Pilot Room. Snowmobiles like this R-SX have a Pilot version built before all the production parts hit the line for final assembly of that model. The pilot build is critical for engineers and a variety of folks in production to evaluate vendor parts and ease of assembly process.
As of now, all indicators from ISOC (National Snocross Promoter) are saying the schedule will remain as posted on their website, which we hope is the case.
In other racing venues like Cross-Country, they are off to a delayed start caused by mother nature and COVID. COR Powersports announced this week they will be cancelling the first Pine Lake race. (See letter below) Although a disappointment, COR Powersports is working hard to find other venues, and Im confident they will.
I’m looking forward to following cross country. Bummed to see COR have to cancel Pine Lake.
I get the mother nature thing but this covid crap has gotten way out of hand a long time ago. South Dakota is open.
Those new Cats look awesome!
Hold all events in Iowa and South Dakota!
Hell with MN an Wis, they made their bed.
