Watched it last night. Can anyone explain to me why so many of racers wear open face helmets? Do they wear them even when its gets cold?
I watched the first half of this program last night, well done story. We don’t get to hear too many details of that race down here in the lower 48, that broadcast really filled in some blanks and helped to put faces to some of the names that we hear about when speaking of the Iron Dog.
open face helmets seem to be a little lighter over the course of 2k miles. and I know it sounds crazy, but they are a bit better at sealing up to protect from cold and frostbite.
