Arctic Cat introduced today the Wildcat 1000 X, an all-new model in its pure sport Wildcat line of side-by-side vehicles. The Wildcat 1000 X combines 90-plus horsepower with new, advanced drive and handling technologies to provide off-road enthusiasts with an unrivaled experience. Arctic Cat will begin shipping the new Wildcat 1000 X to dealers in March 2013.

“With its 90-plus horsepower, industry leading 18 inches of rear travel suspension and 13 inches of ground clearance, the Wildcat X offers even greater acceleration and maneuverability to those seeking the best balance of power, suspension and handling in an off-road vehicle,” said Claude Jordan, chairman and chief executive officer of Arctic Cat.

Powering the Wildcat 1000 X is a massaged V-Twin, SOHC, liquid-cooled, 951cc, electronic fuel injection engine built to provide massive torque and maximum acceleration. A new lightweight crankshaft dramatically improves acceleration.

Arctic Cat’s Wildcat 1000 X also features a new drive and driven clutch, created in partnership with Team Industries.

In addition, the Wildcat 1000 X utilizes Arctic Cat’s new sway bar for stability, in conjunction with new, heavy duty FOX Podium shocks and Maxxis Bighorn tires.

The automatic transmission has a park-in-gear shifter with reverse, neutral, high and low gears, and easily shifts from two-wheel to four-wheel drive, using a dashboard switch. The variable assist electronic power steering is designed to maintain a light steering input effort, with an infinitely adjustable tilt steering wheel.

The Wildcat 1000 X provides an industry leading 18-inches of rear suspension travel and 13-inches of ground clearance. Its full perimeter exoskeleton chassis offers best-in-class comfort and leg room for users. The interior has a locking glove box and cup holders, color matched bucket seats with three-point seat belts, tube-frame doors with integrated nets, and front and rear sport bumpers.

The Wildcat 1000 X is available in Team Arctic Green and Vibrant Red Metallic colors.
