Race Weekend Rewind – A Look Back at Christian Brothers Racing in New York

#43 Pro Logan Christian

Christian Brothers Racing (CBR) returned to the podium at the Seneca Allegany National snocross track last week in upstate New York.

Pake made his first trip to the top of the Pro Lite box in Iowa a couple weeks ago, and showed his determination to return last Friday in Salamanca. The confined track was much like Deadwood filled with big moguls and tough terrain, but Pake and his ZR battled through it to maintain third place when the checkers flew.

“Friday was a great race and I was happy with my third place finish. That New York track terrain was really tough and lap times were really short, so there was zero room for error, and not a whole lot of opportunity to pass,” said Pake. “My qualifying was strong and our ZR performed really well in those rough conditions. We have a couple weeks off before Michigan so I’ll take the time to work on my starts to make sure I get in front of any first turn tangles.”

New York fan favorite Pro, #43 Logan Christian, qualified at the front of the pack both Friday and Saturday and looked to be a podium contender in the finals. Logan’s ZR pulled strong and looked fast, but lady luck bit him both days. A sled issue on Friday night dropped Logan to the back of the pack after running up front, and Saturday he was victim to a first turn pile up forcing him off track.

“If I could practice “luck” in the coming weeks before Michigan, that’s what I’m going to focus on,” laughed Christian.  “I feel stronger than ever, and except for a minor sled issue on Friday, our Arctic Cats are exceptional performers. When I got pushed off the track on Saturday, it was on concrete which was nearly impossible to re-enter the track easily. I dropped a lap down, but battled back to tenth spot fighting through traffic and setting the second fastest lap time. I absolutely love racing in New York and was disappointed in my final results, but qualifying proved I’m fast. I’ll get them in Michigan.”

Pro Lite teammate Anson Scheele said, “I’m happy for Andy’s podium this weekend and Logan looks incredibly strong too. My qualifying and final results on Friday felt good, but I’m really looking forward to a bigger track and some hills. Time for #44 to stretch these wings! [Laughing]”

Christian Brothers Racing gave away a CBR Team Replica Jacket to two more lucky youths.  Jackets are given away at each AMSOIL Championship Snocross National.

Next up for CBR is the Snocross National in Michigan, March 13-14.
