The curriculum content is structured by veteran instructor Amber Holt and recognizes the physical and emotional differences needed throughout the learning experience for women. With the support of Arctic Cat and the snowmobile tourism industry, Holt now offers Women’s and couples specific backcountry riding programs that focus on bringing more women confidently into the “sport and style” of western riding.
Backcountry Basics has teamed up with companies like Arctic Cat Snowmobiles, Travelers Snowmobile Rentals, Sawtelle Mountain Resort, Woodie’s Arctic Cat and Seven Devils Lodge to provide riding packages that accommodate a “Women’s Backcountry Riding Experience”.
Female enthusiast who would like to experience western riding can learn from the“step by step” program to get her off trail and into the pristine backcountry. Participants do not need to own a snowmobile to get started!
With valuable instruction, friendship amongst peers, a little bit of pampering, women confidently take on the backcountry through a structured and comfortable pace that allows them to grasp, finesse and execute fundamental skills with professional guidance. Ladies will experience every unintimidating aspect needed for success from Backcountry Basics through structured outdoor classroom to the positive experience of ‘real backcountry riding’ with a licensed guide. ANY female enthusiast at any skill level is encouraged to register.
Several varied packages are available that include instruction, guided tour locations, 2013 mountain sleds, meals, spa amenities and more! Travelers Snowmobile Rental packages include a privately guided tour through Yellowstone Park to finish a perfect stay while Seven Devils Lodge includes Teddy’s best homemade 5 star menu in the West!
“His and hers” package are a twist off the original “She Can Ride” package. This package is a great way that will help him, help her in getting started. This package awakens a unique perception toward her learning needs. They are structured to provide a getaway package that includes instruction, guide, and stay. First days of range instruction and guided backcountry are planned so that each gender can move at a comfortable personal pace. Couples then finish their stay with a guided backcountry experience strengthening passionate bond of interest together.
