Cory Davis (L) and Ryan Simons are a good bet to be among the teams vying to win this year’s race.
The 2016 Alaskan Iron Dog cross-country began Feb. 19 (for the Trail class), with the Pro class starting on Saturday, Feb. 20.
The 2000-mile race features 41 2-man Pro teams who will compete against each other AND the rugged Alaskan conditions.

Best of luck to all the racers!
Ryan Sottosanti’s sled above. Ryan finished 7th in last year’s ultra-brutal event.
Best of luck cat racers.
