Beginning today, Team Arctic’s Wes Selby will compete at the Ultimate Snowmobiler event in Crested Butte, CO.
His sled: this fully custom Arctic Cat ZR SX-R snocrosser-turned-HCR-with-a-Speedwerx-800-supercharger!
Here’s the skinny:
It started life as a 2015 Arctic Cat ZR 6000R SX race sled. Then Wes and fellow Arctic Cat engineer Jeff Tweet began, uh, tweaking.
First, they extended the rails on the skidframe and added a 153-in. Camoplast track. A rear tunnel extension completed the stretch.
Next came a FOX-equipped Cross-Link rear suspension system built for them by Kirk Hibbert.
Then a trip to Speedwerx and a swap of the stock motor with a Speedwerx-built 800 Supercharger gave it horsepower 225 range.
BAM! Sled is ready for hillcross, hillclimb and whatever kind of craziness Wes is likely to find.
Team Arctic’s Garth Kaufman built a similar sled (with Kirk Hibbert) for the Ultimate race (and other hillclimb events), using a Speedwerx-built Supercharged 600 engine.
I’m pretty stoked to see how these Cats will do. I have a feeling they’ll be roosting with the big boys.
Good luck to both, as well as all the other Team Arctic racers who are competing over the next few weekends.
Thanks for reading.
Good luck, and have fun!
Awesome! I want one!
Where can we find race results and such?
Awesome!!
I loved seeing Jeff’s pictures of his twin piped rear exit sled from the X-games, so envious.
I Bleed Green – 2 places to check for race results are sled2sled.com and rmsha facebook. The timeliness of the results depends on the internet service at the hill. I believe that last year we got to watch some of this race on the internet. I will be looking for it on Sunday.
Is this the same set up Ryan Simons and the other X-game Hillcross racers used? At the X-games, the Cat guys using this set up seemed to have a definite handling advantage through the turns…..
I heard Selby will be running the 3000 Pantera in next year’s cross country races. I was told he prefers the quiet ride and low emissions to the podium (two stroke smoke gives him headaches). Also, the improved fuel economy will ensure a finish in Grafton. Just speculation but I could see it.

on CNBC this morning. That the up and cinomg generation is – for the first time – dumber than the generation that came before it. And “dumb and dumber” was the general nature of the comments. For example – people don’t have any concept of Medicare (in terms of paying in when you’re working and what you pay when you’re on it). Paying for Medicare separately as part of FICA started relatively recently. And current recipients are 100% subsidized on part A – and up to 75% subsidized on part B (depending on income – minimum payment is about $100/month – and a married couple doesn’t have to pay more per person unless MAGI exceeds $170k/year). The subsidy comes from the Medicare part of FICA – which is inadequate – which is why Medicare is now scheduled to go broke in about 2017. And Medicare doesn’t cover everything – you need a Medigap policy too – unless you want to take risks like running out of hospital days. That will cost about $300/month to “plug the gap”. Perhaps part D coverage too – at a cost of about $30/month. So – even with huge subsidies – a Medicare recipient will pay over $400/month – close to $5,000 year for Medicare. If you’re married – that’s about $10k more or less a year. For some reason – the WAPO readers think it costs a heck of a lot less. Also – Mayo JAX and Scottsdale have never accepted Medicaid. All of the main Mayo facilities (which don’t do primary care) accept Medicare patients – but do not accept Medicare assignment. For some reason – even though they wind up doing less paperwork as a result of this policy – they get paid about 15% more from Medicare. I have never understood the rationale behind this payment scheme (designed by Medicare – not Mayo). Perhaps someone can explain it to me. http://dvrlflzzjy.com ghlkbinwf [link=http://doaeffbfptb.com]doaeffbfptb[/link]

This day was One of The Best Days of My Life. David and I have been married 1 year on July 12th and were not able to have a homoenoyn. One year into marriage life is tuff. But i was offered an opportunity to recreate Our Wedding Day. Not for sure what was in store for us we ventured out to Elmwood Gardens once again in the mid-summer heat with all of the mosquitos. And let me say boy did April and Wes do it up for us. This was the day that I Fail in Love with My Best Friend all over again. These two are amazing. They caught every smile, frown, laugh, and even every mosquito expression. I could not have asked for two better Photographers. As a photographer myself i know what i like and these pictures I Love. When i first saw these pictures I cried because not only did i fall in love with My Husband again but it was also caught on camera. I now will have these memories for a lifetime, with proof. I just have to say with The Upmost Appreciation and Respect for these Two and from the Bottom of Our Hearts Thank You. And We Love You for putting All of your Hearts Into This Shoot. Yall Love what you do and It Shows. Great Job Guys! All of Our Love! http://molmizzbhci.com crlbhavy [link=http://ecxndi.com]ecxndi[/link]

Well, the article is interesting. The continued used of the cross-link shock system wasn’t something I would have expected….
However, looks like the spammers already have this site pegged…..something seldomly seen with John……….
